Novel ideas?

I’m trying to decide on a new book to read. So I found a list of books that the interwebs think I should read, eliminated the ones that I have read, or that I haven’t read but already own, and ended up with this little list:
Lady Chatterly’s Lover
Ulysses
A Room with a View
Subterraneans
Vile Bodies
The Invisible Man
Therese Raquin

Actually, let’s leave off Ulysses. We all know I won’t actually read that. What should I get? Or suggestions that aren’t on this list?
